You are invited to MHACA's free Community Forum 2009 - "Walking Through Grief" on Tuesday, 16 June @ 5.15pm.
Special guest will be Chris Hall, Director of the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement who will be
talking about a range of issues related to 'Making Sense of Grief & Loss in our Daily Lives' - see attached flyer.
Chris will also be running 2 free Grief Workshops:
Supporting Young People Experiencing Grief & Loss
Tuesday, 16 June 2009 - 1.00-4.00pm
- understanding grief and loss theory as it impacts upon adolescents
- identifying the impact and developmental needs of grieving adolescents
- identifing effective strategies when providing support to grieving adolescents
For professionals working with young people such as teachers, counsellors, nurses, therapists and youth workers
Relearning the Self & the World in the Wake of Loss
Wednesday, 17 June 2009 - 9.00am-4.30pm
- how to move from ‘living apart and separate from the world’ to reconstructing a world of meaning
- exploring the practical application of ‘making meaning’ strategies
- exploring therapeutic techniques that can be used when counseling grieving clients
For professionals including therapists, GPs, nurses, teachers, counsellors, palliative care practitioners, social workers, psychologists and the clergy
